Summary
Lead merchandise strategy and execution for men's apparel with accountability for sales, gross margin, turn, assortment curation, digital experience, and customer satisfaction. Drive short and long term product strategies, sourcing, vendor relationships and collaborate cross functionally to meet financial KPIs while developing and coaching a high performing team in a hybrid headquarters environment.
Responsibilities
- Create and oversee customer centric merchandise strategy and product selection for men's apparel.
- Set direction for short and long term product strategies including sourcing, liquidity and vendor mix.
- Identify new business opportunities such as collaborations, trends and new markets and lead buying teams to pursue them.
- Partner with planning to align financial plans and take calculated risks to meet KPIs.
- Review assortments to ensure alignment with category and financial plans and lead supplier relationships.
- Work cross functionally with planning, private brand, retail, allocation, pricing, fashion office and marketing on priorities.
- Drive actions based on customer response including negotiating for increased access or returns to vendor.
- Act as change leader supporting company initiatives and ensuring adoption by merchandising team.
- Develop direct reports and succession plans to grow leadership talent.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of management and leadership experience with demonstrated progression.
- Experience across related fields and multiple disciplines preferred.
- Expertise in merchandising, men's apparel experience preferred.
- Strong strategic planning, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with peers and senior leadership.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Experience influencing across multiple levels of the organization.
