Summary
The Temp Operations Associate is responsible for maintaining store inventory and stock areas to company standards, minimizing stock loss, processing inbound freight and returns, and supporting store maintenance and merchandising tasks. The role requires accurate record keeping, cooperation with central distribution and inventory control, and adherence to receiving and security procedures.
Responsibilities
- Maintain orderly stock and receiving areas and general store maintenance
- Accurately process inbound freight returns transfers and damages per policy
- Support compliance with receiving practices including safekeeping of funds and property
- Ensure merchandise is ticketed sensored and security tagged
- Participate in inventory and cycle counts
- Assist with floor moves merchandising display maintenance and price changes
- Pack or wrap customer purchases when necessary
- Participate in store meetings and training and perform other assigned tasks
Requirements
- Previous retail stock shipping or receiving experience
- Ability to handle receiving operations and properly handle merchandise
- Strong interpersonal communication organization and follow through skills
- Ability to read count and write to complete documentation accurately
- Ability to process information and merchandise through computer systems
- Ability to operate required equipment including sensor tag remover and inventory systems
- Ability to adjust priorities in a fast paced environment and work varied hours including nights weekends and holidays
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and move handle heavy boxes and fixtures
