Process Engineer

As a Process Engineer, you will be responsible for the qualification and production process approval of new injection molds. You will develop set-up procedures and documentation for Production Mold Technicians to ensure all quality, efficiency, and safety requirements are achieved. This role involves hands-on activities and requires fostering excellent molding practices and assisting in training set-up personnel.

• Perform new tool qualification using a scientific molding approach.
• Recommend tooling modifications for a robust molding window to provide quality parts with optimized cycle times.
• Develop and document processing and set-up procedures.
• Lead and support implementation of Scientific/Decoupled Molding processes.
• Lead molding improvements including cycle time efficiencies and scrap reduction.
• Assist with general molding troubleshooting and quality issues.
• Manage projects including DOE’s and process capability studies.
• Perform job safely and strive to meet or exceed company safety goals.

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Engineering Degree.
• RJG Master Molder – I and II certification.
• 5+ years of experience in mold set-ups and changes within an injection molding facility.
• Experience with injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
• Excellent knowledge of engineering thermoplastic resins and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of using cavity pressure sensors.
• Ability to maintain mold records and document processes.
• Working knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent communication skills.
