Summary
The Product Planning Manager supports integrated business planning across assigned brands and categories. This role partners with merchandising, demand planning, supply planning, finance, and analytics teams to turn merchandising strategies into actionable insights and enterprise decisions. It helps improve assortment productivity, product performance, and cross-functional alignment throughout the seasonal planning lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Support seasonal product planning activities, milestones, inputs, outputs, and follow-up actions.
- Prepare executive-ready materials that explain planning choices, business impacts, metrics, trade-offs, risks, and recommended actions.
- Translate dashboards and performance metrics into concise business insights for merchandising and leadership teams.
- Track decisions, action items, ownership, and open questions across planning forums and milestones.
- Analyze SKU productivity, assortment adoption, revenue per SKU, sell-through, margin, and average unit retail performance.
- Partner with analytics and planning leaders to standardize reporting, templates, data inputs, and routines.
- Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration.
Requirements
- Experience in merchandising, product planning, merchandise planning, business planning, retail strategy, forecasting, or a related analytical function.
- Strong understanding of seasonal merchandise planning, product lifecycle management, assortment planning, and retail performance metrics.
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights, recommendations, and executive-level narratives.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, with experience using dashboards, reporting tools, and planning systems.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across functions.
