Job Description

Overview

Our client is seeking a full-time Sales Associate to join a new Madison Avenue boutique in New York. This is a hands-on luxury selling role within an intimate two-person store environment, where the associate will build lasting client relationships, contribute meaningfully to first-year sales goals, and help establish the presence of a distinctive fine jewelry house in the neighborhood. The position is fully on-site and offers the opportunity to be part of a new store opening from the start, with close partnership across the boutique and atelier teams.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales in the Madison Avenue boutique through personalized service and strong product storytelling.

  • Build and develop a personal client book using neighborhood outreach and the existing client base.

  • Proactively clienteling through phone, text, appointment setting, and consistent follow-up after each visit.

  • Partner with the Store Manager to deliver daily selling goals and support the store's first-year business plan.

  • Independently hold the sales floor on the manager's days off, including:

    • Opening and closing the boutique

    • Cash handling

    • Following security procedures

  • Support boutique operations related to inventory and client service, including:

    • Receiving merchandise

    • Transfers with the downtown atelier

    • Repairs

    • Special orders and custom requests

  • Coordinate and host client appointments with a high level of professionalism and discretion.

  • Support trunk shows, local events, and other community-facing selling opportunities.

  • Develop deep knowledge of the collection, including high karat gold, hand-hammered techniques, and the craftsmanship behind the product.

  • Collaborate with the broader team as needed for store coverage between locations.

Requirements

  • Experience in luxury fine jewelry sales, ideally within a designer house, high jewelry boutique, or comparable specialty retail environment.

  • Proven success selling at four and five figure price points.

  • Strong clienteling skills, with the ability to build and actively manage a personal book of business.

  • Confidence working with a private, discerning clientele who value discretion and personalized service.

  • Ability to work fully on-site in New York on a seven-day retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.

  • Comfort working in a small team where sales, operations, shipping, and client service responsibilities are shared.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage appointments, follow-up, and operational details with care.

  • Interest in craftsmanship-driven fine jewelry and the ability to learn product details in depth.

  • Additional language skills are a plus.

  • Familiarity with high karat gold or handmade jewelry is preferred.

  • Flexibility to support both the Madison Avenue boutique and the downtown atelier as business needs require.
