Selling And Service Assistant

Summary

The Selling and Service Assistant provides clerical and front- and back-of-house support for the Hermès Chicago boutique, ensuring accurate transaction processing and a high standard of client service. This role assists the sales team with merchandising, stockroom duties, and after-sales administration in a fast-paced luxury environment. The SSA helps maintain selling floor standards, supports opening and closing procedures, and records detailed CRM information.

Responsibilities

• Process and accurately record point-of-sale transactions, payments, and client verifications.
• Assist management with opening and closing procedures and POS decisions.
• Provide prompt, friendly client service including assistance with wrapping and packaging at point of sale.
• Support sales team with merchandising, returning merchandise to the floor, retrieving stock, and preparing stockroom items.
• Maintain workstation and selling floor supplies, merchandising standards, and organization.
• Assist with stockroom operations including replenishment, ticketing, EAS tagging, and inventory preparation.
• Support after-sales services by logging repairs, contacting clients, and maintaining service records.
• Record accurate CRM files and answer phones with appropriate customer service.

Requirements

• 1 year retail experience; luxury retail experience preferred.
• Experience with POS and cash handling strongly preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to multi-task, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office; familiarity with CRM systems preferred.
• Ability to handle difficult situations with composure and professionalism.
• Ability to lift between 0-25 lbs. without assistance.
