Summary
The Selling Supervisor is a store leadership role responsible for driving sales performance, coaching the sales team, and executing daily business objectives to ensure a profitable store. This role models selling behaviors, monitors metrics, and supports training and development to enhance customer satisfaction and team effectiveness. The position contributes to merchandising, inventory control, and operational compliance while acting as an entry point to future management roles.
Responsibilities
- Coach and develop sales associates to drive team sales performance and achieve KPIs
- Assign and manage tasks, goals, and priorities for the store team
- Sell on the floor at least 50% of the time and implement clienteling strategies
- Monitor sales metrics and share performance data with the team
- Execute promotional activities and sales events and support merchandising needs
- Support inventory control and supervise daily cash transactions and register balancing
- Champion new selling technologies and communicate sales tools to staff
- Participate in recruitment and provide feedback on team performance and development needs
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies
Requirements
- Retail supervisory or similar industry experience
- Strong leadership, communication, planning and prioritization skills
- Ability to operate register, stand and walk for extended periods and perform physical tasks up to 30 lbs
- Flexible availability including days, evenings, weekends and occasional travel
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive customer and coworker relationships
- Business acumen and product knowledge with fashion insights a plus
- Ability to mentor employees and support training programs
