Job Description

Summary

The Senior Cost Analyst supports US manufacturing by ensuring inventory and cost accounting processes are accurate, complete, and timely. This role analyzes transactions, identifies root causes of variances, and implements process improvements while collaborating with operations and the corporate controlling team. The position requires strong data analytics skills and experience with tools such as Power BI, Dataiku, and Alteryx.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and implement elements of the inventory control environment to ensure accurate and timely cost accounting across US manufacturing and product development sites.
  • Ensure consistency across entities and collaborate with the corporate controlling team to maintain compliance with group policies.
  • Monitor internal control results, report risk profiles to leadership, and recommend tactics to safeguard inventory assets.
  • Support cost accounting activities, including implementation and updates of inventory cost absorption rates for work centers and precious metal types.
  • Monitor aged work orders, work with operations to resolve issues or identify obsolescence risk, and support inventory reduction initiatives.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of experience in financial, data, or cost analyst roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as JDE, SAP, or similar.
  • Proficiency with Power BI and familiarity with data analytics tools like Dataiku and Alteryx; advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work across functions and sites.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
