Summary
Senior Designer responsible for designing and developing men's polo concept knits through sketches, swatches, prototypes and market research, partnering with cross functional teams to deliver seasonal assortments and ensure samples meet timelines and quality standards. This role leads design direction, mentors associate designers and collaborates with technical, merchandising and development partners to execute product within price and brand frameworks. Travel may be required for inspiration, development and factory visits.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop men's polo concept knits including sketches, swatches, prototypes and mock ups
- Conduct seasonal market, competitor and vintage research to inform trends, silhouettes and materials
- Partner with merchandising, PMT and technical design to align on line plans, price points and margins
- Oversee fittings from proto to bulk approval and approve CADs and size runs
- Collaborate with print and graphic teams to develop seasonal ideas and artwork
- Manage handoffs, line sheets and PLM uploads and mentor associate designers
- Drive delivery of design handoffs to meet calendar milestones and communicate product changes
- Work with development and studio teams to create new qualities, washes, trims and logo techniques
- Travel as needed for design inspiration and factory visits
Requirements
- Relevant experience as a fashion designer focused on men's knits
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop and Flex PLM; Adobe XD and 3D design a plus
- Knowledge of pattern making, grading and garment construction for men's knits
- Strong trend awareness and market research skills
- Deep knowledge of vintage clothing construction, fits and fabrications
- Ability to work across multiple aesthetic directions while maintaining brand integrity
- Exceptional research capabilities and attention to detail
