Senior Designer for ready to wear wovens based in the New York SoHo headquarters responsible for leading design from concept to final sample, shaping seasonal woven collections with an elevated brand aesthetic and mentoring junior designers.
Responsibilities
- Lead design and development of woven styles across categories from concept through final sample
- Research trends culture and vintage references to inform forward thinking woven design
- Translate seasonal inspiration into commercially relevant original designs
- Work in 2D and 3D including draping sketching and silhouette sculpting
- Partner with Product Development Technical Design and Merchandising to ensure execution to production
- Oversee fittings providing design feedback to refine fit proportion and detailing
- Collaborate with Fabric R and D Graphics and Trims on material innovation and surface treatments
- Lead style outs photoshoots and internal reviews to refine looks and storytelling
- Manage multiple projects maintaining creative vision precision and organized workflows
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in Ready to Wear design with focus on wovens
- Strong expertise in fabrication drape construction and finishing for woven product
- Highly proficient in Adobe Illustrator Photoshop and hand sketching
- Skilled in PLM systems Centric preferred and standard design documentation
- Excellent understanding of fit silhouette proportion and detail across wovens
- Experience guiding junior designers and managing multiple projects
- Strong communication and presentation skills with cross functional partners
