Summary
The Senior Legal Counsel - Employment advises Human Resources and business leaders on employment matters across the Americas. The role partners with internal teams and external counsel to manage legal risks and provide practical guidance in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Advise on employment matters, including hiring, employee relations, compensation, benefits, workplace safety, leave, accommodations, and terminations.
- Partner with business teams to identify and mitigate legal risks and provide concise, commercially focused advice.
- Work with HR on employee complaints, investigations, policies, processes, and training.
- Manage employment litigation, agency complaints, regulatory audits, agreements, and outside counsel relationships.
- Monitor changes in employment laws and regulations and advise the business accordingly.
Requirements
- J.D. from a recognized law school and membership in at least one state bar in good standing; New York admission is strongly preferred.
- At least 4 years of employment law experience, preferably in a combination of law firm and in-house roles.
- Experience advising on U.S. employment laws, including California and New York.
- Strong judgment, business acumen, communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
- Ability to work regularly in person at the New York City corporate office and travel as needed.
