Senior Manager Merch Financial Planning

The Senior Manager Merch Financial Planning role involves strategic planning, financial management, team leadership, and process improvement. This position contributes to organizational success by connecting product strategy to financial outcomes through data analysis, leading process improvements, and supporting a team of financial planners.

• Partner with directors and VP to define strategies that identify future opportunities and trends.
• Develop and leverage understanding of customer strategy to financial plans.
• Manage financial planning calendar and direct creation, review, and execution of plans.
• Provide guidance on improving sales, inventory management, and profitability.
• Ensure financial planners develop executable plans for Stores & Digital.
• Direct and manage performance, scenario, and ad hoc analysis.
• Develop and implement business process improvements.
• Participate in special projects and lead cost accounting transitions.
• Act as a change leader to support company initiatives.
• Hire, develop, and train new financial planners.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of retail planning/inventory management experience.
• Minimum of two years of retail buying experience.
• Minimum of one year of retail experience interacting directly with customers.
• Nordstrom experience preferred.
• Expertise in merchandise category.
• Understanding of retail and service environment of Nordstrom.
• Proficiency in MS Windows and Office suite.
• Clear and effective communication and interpersonal skills.
