Job Description

Summary

Senior Technical Designer supporting kid's apparel responsible for leading technical design, fit and construction to ensure products meet brand standards and safety regulations. This role partners cross functionally and manages a team while contributing to pattern development, fit approvals and calendar milestones in a hybrid headquarters environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead a team of Technical Designers and collaborate with cross functional managers
  • Oversee fit sessions, analyze wear tests and ensure fit consistency to brand standards
  • Lead block pattern development and coordinate with Pattern Engineer and Product Developer
  • Create and maintain construction details and images for product
  • Interpret design intent through sketches and visual construction guidance
  • Ensure children's apparel complies with safety regulations and standards
  • Manage measurement worksheets and communicate specifications to factories
  • Drive market research and provide recommendations
  • Lead special projects and ensure calendar milestones are met

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Apparel Design Pattern Making or related field
  • Minimum 7 years experience in production fitting and pattern making
  • Experience leading and influencing a project or team with strong organization skills
  • Expertise in grade rules and tolerances demonstrated through fit testing
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator MS Office and Product Lifecycle Management systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability and willingness to travel globally
  • Portfolio required showcasing work on kid's product
