Job Description

Summary

The Senior Technical Designer at Ralph Lauren is responsible for ensuring well-fitting, properly constructed garments that align with RL standards and design intent. This role involves creating, maintaining, and distributing tools globally to support the "Closer to Needle Point" strategy. The position requires self-direction, organization, and the ability to manage priorities independently.

Responsibilities
  • Foster open communication with Design, PMT, and Merch teams.
  • Prepare proto/fit garments for review and lead fit sessions with team members and global partners.
  • Communicate pattern corrections and enter fit comments into PLM with product pictures/dates.
  • Update construction detail sketches using Adobe Illustrator.
  • Ensure correct grade rules in tech packs for compliant product fit.
  • Complete data in PLM for accurate tracking reports.
  • Attend virtual fittings and collaborate with global teams.
  • Procure materials for 3D digital asset creation and work with 3D assets.
  • Maintain and distribute global contact lists and simplification tools.
  • Support supplier calibration and certification for fit approvals.
Requirements
  • Degree or certification in Apparel Manufacturing, Design, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in an apparel-related role.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and problem-solve proactively.
  • Knowledge of 3D programs and Adobe Illustrator.
  • Proficiency in Gerber, PLM, Browzwear, MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word.
