Serge Sewer

Summary

The Serge Sewer will operate a serge sewing machine to sew fabric upholstery pieces to quality and product specifications. The role supports production by reading tickets and sew notes, using hand tools, performing basic machine maintenance, and assisting with other tasks as required.

Responsibilities

• Operate a serge sewing machine safely to produce quality upholstery pieces
• Read and follow instructions on production tickets and sew notes
• Use hand tools such as scissors and other sewing tools
• Perform preventive maintenance and maintain assigned machines
• Multitask and perform duties with minimal supervision
• Assist with duties outside regular work area as required
• Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality

Requirements

• Six months prior experience in a similar role with upholstery knowledge
• Ability to read and understand production tickets
• Adequate communication skills to interact with team members
• Detail oriented with ability to multitask
• Ability to stand, walk, use hands and reach regularly
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or grip up to 50 lbs
