Sewing Inspector

Summary

Inspect sewn fabric and leather parts for defects, accuracy and missing components, prepare items for repair or rework, and transport completed bundles to the next production area while following production tickets and sew notes.

Responsibilities

• Inspect sewn upholstery and leather parts for proper sewing and flaws
• Return items to the appropriate sewer for repair or rework
• Turn cushions and pillows inside out after inspection
• Scan sewn bundles as complete in the production system
• Transport inspected items to the next operation
• Read and follow production tickets and sew notes

Requirements

• Six months prior experience in a similar role with upholstery products
• Ability to read production tickets
• Adequate communication skills to interact with team members
• Ability to multitask with minimal supervision
• Detail oriented with consistent attendance and punctuality
• Capacity to stand, twist, stoop, kneel, squat, bend and climb for prolonged periods
• Ability to lift and mobilize furniture and accessories in excess of 50 pounds while using appropriate equipment
