Job Description

Description

Jil Sander is an international luxury brand led by design, quality and functionality. Progressive and experimental, it delivers an enduring wardrobe for women and men fusing elements from different genres, in a play of contrast that produces a variety of garments and accessories that are evenly sumptuous, practical, and iconic. Technology and the hand-made, natural and high-performance materials, feminine and masculine, daywear and glamour, complement each other, balancing invention and purity of forms. The constant collaboration with artists, photographers, filmmakers, musicians, and artisans constantly adds resonance and depth to the vision. The brand was established in 1968 by Mrs. Jil Sander, it is directed by Simone Bellotti, and it was acquired by the OTB Fashion Group in 2021.

Position Overview

The Store Manager is the business owner of the store results, accountable for delivering sales and profitability targets while bringing the brand's identity to life in every client interaction. This role leads all aspects of store performance: commercial results, client development, team leadership, visual and operational standards, and compliance with company policy and local labor law.

Success requires balancing entrepreneurial commercial judgment with disciplined execution of brand and corporate guidelines - acting as the primary link between the store and headquarters/regional partners in merchandising, HR, operations, and marketing.

Key Responsibilities

Business Strategy & Financial Performance

  • Maintain a full command of the business strategy and translate it into actions that deliver sales and financial targets.
  • Build the store strategy and annual action plan, establishing a clear roadmap of expected sales and financial achievement.
  • Communicate and track store sales and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), providing context and rationale behind business results.
  • Review profit and loss reports monthly and develop action plans to address expense controls as needed.
  • Deliver against expense budgets by actively monitoring and controlling all expense items.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly analysis of business and product reporting to anticipate and respond to shifts in business or merchandising performance.

Team Recruitment & Development

  • Own recruitment, development, and performance management for the store team.
  • Foster an inspiring environment for engagement and learning that empowers people to realize their full potential.
  • Ensure every team member is fully trained in their job responsibilities and aligned to the store's business objectives and strategies.
  • Train the team on new and existing company policies and procedures.
  • Identify individual strengths and development areas, and build targeted development plans for store personnel.
  • Train and hold the team accountable to customer service standards that deliver a stellar customer experience.
  • Ensure all staff are properly trained in POS transaction handling and cash management procedures.

Client Development & Customer Experience

  • Lead and follow up on the clientele program, ensuring all sales professionals are developing and retaining long-term clients.
  • Hold clienteling processes to a consistently high standard across the store.
  • Develop and grow the existing customer database.
  • Ensure CRM is executed within Company standards.
  • Partner with the direct supervisor and store team to resolve customer issues to the customer's satisfaction.

Store Operations

  • Execute all aspects of daily store operations, including store logistics, stock flow, inventory control, and floor readiness, partnering with the team to keep the store fully operational.
  • Maximize efficiency and protect business integrity by applying the Store Operations policies and procedures provided by Home Office.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-maintained store that supports efficient operations and a comfortable shopping experience.
  • Ensure accuracy in all POS transactions, along with cash handling and banking procedures.
  • Adhere to all banking and accounting policies.

  • Manage store headcount and payroll budgets within the targets allocated by the Company.
  • Use all Company scheduling tools proactively to plan coverage that drives a high level of productivity and maximizes business potential.

Merchandising & Visual Presentation

  • Lead and monitor store merchandise standards to ensure alignment with the Company's direction.
  • Manage best-seller and slow-seller performance, collaborating with the Company to advocate for commercial store needs.
  • Partner with the visual associate to manage merchandising in a way that maximizes sales.
