Summary
The Temporary Operations Associate supports store inventory and receiving functions by maintaining stock areas, processing inbound freight and returns, safeguarding assets, and ensuring housekeeping and merchandising standards are met. This role performs physical tasks including packing, tagging, and participating in inventory counts while coordinating with distribution and corporate inventory control.
Responsibilities
- Process shipping and receiving functions accurately and efficiently
- Maintain orderly stock and receiving areas and general store maintenance
- Process inbound freight returns transfers chargebacks and damages per policy
- Support compliance with receiving practices and record keeping procedures
- Ensure merchandise is ticketed sensored and security tagged to prevent loss
- Participate in inventory and cycle counts
- Assist with floor moves merchandising display maintenance and price changes
- Pack or wrap customer merchandise when necessary
- Attend store meetings and training and perform other assigned tasks
Requirements
- Previous retail stock shipping receiving experience
- Ability to handle receiving operations and properly handle merchandise
- Strong interpersonal communication organization and follow through skills
- Ability to read count and write to complete documentation accurately
- Ability to use inventory control computer systems and related equipment
- Ability to adjust priorities in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work varied hours including nights weekends and holidays
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and move handle heavy boxes and fixtures
