Temporary Polisher

Summary

The Polisher at the Tiffany Workshop in Pelham, NY polishes gold and platinum jewelry to meet exacting quality standards, performing pre-polish, lapping, buffing, thrumming and final polish on complex precious-metal pieces with gemstones. This temporary role (approximately 3-6 months) supports repairs and production workflows, requires adherence to routing steps and quality checks, and is onsite five days a week. The position involves collaboration with the team and regular communication with managers about project status and issues.

Responsibilities

• Polish complex precious-metal jewelry pieces with diamonds and colored gemstones to meet quality standards.
• Perform pre-polish, lapping, buffing, thrumming and final polish on various precious metals.
• Expedite and troubleshoot repairs of assigned jewelry pieces across levels of complexity.
• Adhere to prescribed routing steps, project timelines, gemological requirements and work instructions.
• Conduct self-inspections throughout the manufacturing process to prioritize quality.
• Communicate project status, identify barriers to meeting timelines, and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 5+ years bench experience working with high-end and one-of-a-kind jewelry.
• Extensive experience with precious materials (platinum, yellow gold, white gold) and gemstones/diamonds.
• Technical understanding of jewelry and setting manufacturing techniques and demonstrated repair troubleshooting.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to work overtime and modified schedules as needed.
• Onsite five days a week; duration of assignment approximately 3-6 months.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; computer literacy and a professional work ethic preferred.
