Job Description

Summary

The Visual Merchandising Manager is responsible for developing and executing visual presentation strategies that elevate the customer experience, drive sales, and maintain the brand image across all store locations. This role oversees the planning, design, and implementation of in-store displays, layouts, signage, and seasonal campaigns to ensure visual consistency and commercial impact. This role ensures that key marketing and merchandising objectives are met on time, within budget, and in alignment with Diesel’s brand strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Leverage sales data and regional performance metrics to identify opportunities, inform visual decisions, and drive sell-through.
  • Analyze trends and adapt HQ directives to store-specific business needs, ensuring relevant and profitable product presentation.
  • Align visual strategy with business objectives in partnership with Retail Directors, Merchandising, Planning, and Allocation teams.
  • Measure the impact of merchandising initiatives using KPIs such as sales performance, conversion rates, and customer feedback.
  • Execute visual merchandising guidelines across all stores—including window installations, mannequin styling, floor sets, POP placement, and fixture layout.
  • Lead visual support for store openings, pop-ups, and special projects in collaboration with Interior Design and HQ Visual Teams.
  • Create planograms, mock-ups, and visual directives for windows, mannequins, and in-store displays.
  • Build and maintain a scalable visual calendar aligned with product drops and business milestones.
  • Manage monthly travel schedules and conduct virtual visits to support floor set execution and visual compliance.
  • Manage T&E, freelance, and visual materials budgets in collaboration with the Director of Visual Merchandising.
  • Maintain consistent weekly communication with Retail Leadership to align on priorities, travel, and business needs.
  • Train and coach store teams on visual standards, seasonal directives, and product presentation techniques.
  • Implement loss prevention practices by maintaining organized displays and minimizing exposure to shrink.
Requirements
  • 4-year degree and/or equivalent combination of work and experience.
  • 2+ years’ experience managing and leading a team.
  • Creative experience: styling, merchandising, and/or art background.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 60% of the workweek).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong communication and networking skills, with ability to motivate, persuade, and instill enthusiasm.
  • Knowledge of denim/casual wear market and associated trends.
  • Passion for the brand and ability to serve as a brand ambassador.
