The Alterations Associate provides in-store tailoring and alteration services, performing measurements, sewing, and finishing to ensure proper garment fit. Works in the alterations workshop to complete repairs, adjustments, and custom modifications across a variety of fabrics and styles. Delivers high-quality workmanship with attention to detail and clear customer communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform alterations, hems, repairs, and garment modifications using industrial sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques.
• Take accurate measurements and fit garments to customer specifications, conducting fittings as needed.
• Press and finish garments to professional standards prior to customer pickup.
• Manage work orders, track garment status, and ensure timely completion to meet turnaround targets.
• Provide excellent customer service by explaining alteration options and answering fit questions.
• Maintain equipment and keep the alterations workspace clean and organized.

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional tailoring or alterations experience.
• Proficient with industrial sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work accurately and efficiently.
• Ability to read garment construction and perform precise adjustments.
• Capacity to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights as needed.
• Availability for a part-time schedule, including weekends and evenings as required.
