Summary
Provide expert tailoring and alteration services for high end garments, delivering exceptional customer service during fittings and alterations. Use specialized sewing and pressing equipment to perform a wide range of garment repairs and modifications, maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Support store initiatives and follow all alteration workroom policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform fittings and alterations on a variety of high end garments.
- Use standard sewing, pressing and spotting equipment safely and effectively.
- Operate specialty machines such as buttonhole, cover stitch, and leather equipment.
- Make alteration decisions during customer fittings using technical expertise.
- Maintain high levels of customer service and build strong customer relationships.
- Meet or exceed individual performance and productivity goals.
- Follow all store and tailoring workroom policies and procedures.
- Keep work area clean and safe and support department initiatives.
- Perform ad hoc tailoring responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years fitting and tailoring experience with high end merchandise.
- Ability to fit and perform alterations on a wide range of garments.
- Technical skills with specialty fabrics and techniques such as leather, knits, beading and fine tailoring.
- Experience using specialty machines including double blind and buttonhole machines.
- Knowledge of fabrication and styling of luxury merchandise.
- Ability to use all standard sewing and pressing equipment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
