Alterations Fitter Tailor Sewer

Summary

Provide tailoring expertise and customer service in a luxury retail alterations workroom. Perform fittings and alterations on a wide range of high-end garments using standard and specialty sewing equipment. Maintain a safe clean work environment while supporting store and department initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Conduct customer fittings and recommend appropriate alterations
• Perform alterations on various garments including leather knits and beaded pieces
• Use standard sewing pressing and spotting equipment
• Operate specialty machines such as buttonhole cover-stitch and leather machines
• Follow all alteration workroom policies and tailor procedures
• Deliver exceptional customer service and build customer relationships
• Meet individual performance and productivity goals
• Support store and department initiatives and perform ad hoc responsibilities

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years fitting and tailoring experience with high-end merchandise
• Ability to fit and alter a wide range of garments
• Technical skills in specialty techniques such as buttonholes beading and fine tailoring
• Experience using standard and specialty sewing equipment
• Knowledge of luxury fabrication and styling
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
