Alterations Staff

Summary

Provide expert tailoring and alteration services for high-end garments, delivering exceptional customer service during fittings and alterations. Perform a wide range of sewing and finishing tasks using standard and specialty equipment while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Support store and department initiatives and contribute to achieving individual productivity goals.

Responsibilities

• Perform fittings and alterations on a variety of luxury garments
• Use standard sewing pressing and spotting equipment
• Operate specialty machines such as double blind buttonhole cover stitch and leather machines
• Make alteration decisions during customer fittings using technical expertise
• Maintain high levels of customer service and develop customer relationships
• Follow alteration workroom policies tailor procedures and store policies
• Support company store and department initiatives
• Maintain a clean safe work environment
• Perform ad hoc responsibilities as needed

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years fitting and tailoring experience with high end merchandise
• Ability to fit and perform alterations on a wide range of garments
• Technical skills in specialty areas such as leather knits double face beading fine tailoring and buttonholes desired
• Ability to use standard sewing pressing and spotting equipment
• Experience with specialty machines including double blind buttonhole cover stitch and leather machines
• Knowledge of alterations industry fabrication and styling of luxury merchandise
• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
