Fitter Tailor Or Sewer

Summary

Provide expert fitting and alteration services for high end garments, ensuring exceptional customer service and maintaining a clean safe work environment. Use technical tailoring skills and specialty machines to perform alterations across a wide range of fabrics and styles. Support store initiatives and follow all alteration workroom policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform fittings and alterations on a variety of luxury garments.
• Use standard sewing, pressing and spotting equipment safely.
• Operate specialty machines such as double blind, buttonhole, cover stitch and leather machines.
• Make alteration decisions during customer fittings using technical expertise.
• Create and maintain excellent customer relationships and deliver high quality service.
• Achieve and exceed individual performance and productivity goals.
• Follow all store, workroom and tailor procedures and policies.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform ad hoc responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years fitting and tailoring experience with high end merchandise.
• Ability to fit and perform alterations on a wide range of garments.
• Strong technical background in specialty skills such as leather, knits, double face, beading and fine tailoring desired.
• Ability to use all standard sewing, pressing and spotting equipment.
• Experience with specialty machines including double blind, buttonhole, cover stitch and leather.
• Knowledge of alterations industry including fabrication and styling of luxury merchandise.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
