Summary
Provide expert fitting and tailoring services for high end merchandise, delivering exceptional customer service during fittings and alterations. Perform a range of technical sewing tasks using standard and specialty equipment while maintaining a clean and safe work environment and supporting store initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Conduct customer fittings and advise on alteration decisions.
- Perform alterations on a wide range of garments for luxury merchandise.
- Use standard sewing, pressing and spotting equipment.
- Operate specialty machines such as double blind, buttonhole, cover stitch and leather machines.
- Maintain high levels of customer service and develop customer relationships.
- Meet individual performance and productivity goals.
- Follow store alteration workroom policies and tailor procedures.
- Support company and department initiatives and perform ad hoc responsibilities.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years fitting and tailoring experience with high end merchandise.
- Ability to fit and perform alterations on diverse garment types.
- Technical skills with specialty fabrics such as leather, knits, double face, beading and fine tailoring.
- Ability to use specialty sewing machines and standard equipment.
- Knowledge of alterations industry including fabrication and styling of luxury merchandise.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
