Alterations Specialist - Bal Harbour

Summary

Responsible for producing high quality altered merchandise within established time frame standards and delivering exceptional client service in a luxury retail boutique. Works closely with associates and management to fit, alter, repair, and construct garments while maintaining organization and care for client owned pieces. Requires specialized techniques for delicate fabrics and luxury detailing and reporting to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

• Alter and repair garments including hemming, mending, taking in and letting out seams
• Fit garments on clients to determine alteration needs and provide styling and fitting advice
• Construct garments and other articles to client specifications
• Label and record required alterations for client items
• Maintain and organize client owned pieces per boutique standards
• Ensure sewing machines and equipment are in proper working order
• Use irons and pressing machines to finish garments
• Collaborate with boutique team to support client experience
• Maintain up to date knowledge of alteration techniques for luxury fabrics

Requirements

• Minimum five years of alterations experience in a luxury retail environment preferred
• Strong technical skills in leather, knits, double face, beading, and fine tailoring
• Sound knowledge of fabrics and sewing techniques
• Excellent communication and client service skills
• Detail oriented with ability to work under time constraints
• Minimum High School Diploma
• Ability to lift 15 lb and work flexible schedule including late nights weekends and some holidays
• Foreign language skills preferred
