Summary
Provide high end garment fitting and alteration services on the tailoring team, delivering exceptional customer service and technical expertise. Perform alterations on a wide range of luxury merchandise using standard and specialty sewing equipment while supporting store and department initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Perform fittings and alterations for customers on a variety of garments.
- Use standard sewing pressing and spotting equipment to complete alterations.
- Operate specialty machines such as double blind, buttonhole, cover stitch and leather machines.
- Apply technical skills for specialty fabrications including leather knits double face beading and fine tailoring.
- Make alteration decisions during customer fittings using expertise and judgment.
- Maintain a clean safe and organized work environment in the alteration workroom.
- Model company customer service principles and develop excellent customer relationships.
- Support store department initiatives and follow alteration policies and procedures.
- Perform ad hoc responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years fitting and tailoring experience with high end merchandise.
- Ability to fit and alter a wide range of garments accurately.
- Technical background in specialty skills such as leather knits double face beading and fine tailoring preferred.
- Experience using standard and specialty sewing machines and equipment.
- Knowledge of luxury merchandise fabrication and styling for alterations.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to meet individual performance and productivity goals.
