Summary
Provide high quality alterations and repairs for luxury garments within established time standards, ensuring proper fit and exceptional client service. Maintain organization of client pieces and specialized knowledge of delicate fabrics and CHANEL-specific techniques. Support boutique operations and collaborate closely with the team and management.
Responsibilities
- Perform alterations including hemming, mending, lengthening, and taking in or letting out seams
- Fit garments on clients to determine required alterations and provide styling and fitting advice
- Construct garments to clients specifications and maintain accurate labeling and records
- Organize and maintain client owned pieces according to boutique standards
- Maintain and ensure sewing machines and equipment are in proper working order
- Apply specialized techniques for leather, knits, double-face, beading, and fine tailoring
- Work within time constraints to meet production standards and client expectations
- Collaborate with boutique associates and management to support client experience
Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma
- At least 5 years of alterations experience in a luxury retail environment preferred
- Sound knowledge of various fabrics and sewing techniques
- Strong attention to detail and excellent client service skills
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 15 lb
- Flexible schedule with availability for late nights, weekends, and some holidays
- Ability to work in-store to support opening closing receiving and shipping tasks
