Alterations Specialist - Westfield UTC

Summary

The Alterations Specialist is responsible for producing high-quality altered merchandise within established time standards while delivering exceptional client service. This role fits and alters a wide range of luxury garments, manages client-owned pieces, and maintains alteration equipment and organization. The specialist collaborates with boutique associates and management to ensure accurate, timely execution of alterations and a premium customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Fit clients and determine required alterations for a variety of luxury fabrics and constructions.
• Perform hemming, mending, lengthening, taking in and letting out seams, and other garment construction tasks.
• Work with delicate materials and specialty techniques including leather, knits, double-face, beading, fine tailoring, and buttonholes.
• Label and record client garments and alteration specifications; organize and maintain client-owned pieces.
• Maintain sewing machines, irons, pressing equipment, and ensure tools are in proper working order.
• Provide styling and fitting advice to clients and build ongoing customer relationships.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of alterations experience in a luxury retail environment preferred.
• Sound knowledge of various fabrics and advanced sewing techniques; strong technical skills in specialty alterations.
• Excellent client service and communication skills; attention to detail and ability to work under time constraints.
• Minimum High School Diploma and ability to lift 15 lb; flexible schedule including late nights, weekends, and some holidays.
