Summary
The Area Sales Manager is responsible for developing the North America wholesale business for the assigned Southeast region by building long-term retailer relationships, driving merchandising excellence, and achieving sell-in and sell-out objectives. This role oversees assortment, inventory management, commercial negotiations, and execution of marketing and visual merchandising initiatives to grow market share.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement plans to achieve sell-in and sell-out sales targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with retailers, owners, and store management to drive sell-out.
- Regularly visit points of sale to provide support, merchandising oversight, and training.
- Lead commercial negotiations on space, location, and investments with customers.
- Track and analyze sales performance and adjust sales and marketing actions accordingly.
- Ensure proper execution of visual merchandising plan-o-grams, displays, and POS materials.
- Implement co-op marketing plans and identify promotional or event opportunities to drive traffic.
- Manage assortment and inventory processes with retailers to optimize stock levels and rotation.
- Update CRM with visit reports, pictures, and feedback.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of previous wholesale experience.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Experience analyzing data, market trends, and sales performance metrics.
- Proven ability to develop business plans and manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
- Sales training and in-store training delivery experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Entrepreneurial, self-reliant work habits and ability to travel to customer accounts.
