Summary
The Asset Protection Agent is responsible for protecting customers employees and merchandise by preventing and investigating theft and safety incidents. This role partners with store leadership Emergency Response Team and law enforcement to maintain a safe store environment and support loss prevention strategies.
Responsibilities
- Resolve thefts and conduct apprehensions following policy and leadership guidance
- Monitor video systems and use surveillance to support investigations
- Identify theft trends using reporting technology and RFID data
- Investigate internal theft and gather evidence partnering with AP leadership
- Prepare and submit detailed reports for incidents recoveries and investigations
- Respond to and report store security safety and emergency incidents including medical emergencies
- Lead security audits participate in store meetings and provide shrinkage awareness training
- Serve on the Emergency Response Team and participate in emergency response and First Aid training
- Testify in court when summoned and build partnerships with neighboring retailers and law enforcement
Requirements
- Ability to make accountable decisions and use good judgement in a fast paced environment
- Clear concise verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and remain calm under pressure
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
- Meet state and local licensing requirements where applicable
- Experience in investigative asset protection or security procedures preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills initiative and high level of ownership
