Asset Protection Agent - Garden State Plaza

Summary

The Asset Protection Agent is responsible for protecting customers, team members, store assets, and company profits by mitigating shrinkage and responding to safety and security incidents. This role conducts investigations, supports emergency response efforts, monitors surveillance and RFID systems, and partners with store leadership and law enforcement to resolve incidents and improve inventory accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Monitor store activity using video and RFID systems to identify and investigate theft and merchandise discrepancies.
• Conduct quality apprehensions and follow policy, procedure, and AP leadership guidance when resolving theft incidents.
• Prepare and submit reports for incidents, recoveries, investigations, and safety events; testify in court when required.
• Support store emergency response efforts and participate in training, including First Aid.
• Lead security audits, shrinkage awareness efforts, and partner with neighboring retailers and law enforcement.
• Escalate and support internal investigations and implement action plans to reduce shrink.

Requirements

• Clear verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities.
• Good judgment, accountability, and the ability to remain calm when dealing with aggressive behavior or safety issues.
• Maintain confidentiality and meet any applicable state and local licensing requirements.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
• Experience in investigative, asset protection, or security procedures preferred.
