Summary
Responsible for protecting customers, employees, merchandise, and physical store assets by preventing and investigating theft, supporting emergency response, and driving shrinkage reduction initiatives. Works closely with store leadership, law enforcement, and AP teams to maintain safety and asset accuracy. Uses surveillance, reporting, and RFID tools to identify trends and support investigations.
Responsibilities
- Resolve theft incidents and conduct apprehensions in accordance with policy and leadership guidance.
- Use video systems and surveillance tactics to monitor suspicious activity and support investigations.
- Identify theft trends through reporting and technology and implement action plans to reduce shrinkage.
- Investigate internal theft by gathering evidence and partnering with AP leadership and investigation teams.
- Leverage RFID data to aid merchandise movement investigations and accuracy.
- Respond to, escalate, and report store security, safety, and emergency incidents including medical emergencies.
- Lead security audits and participate in store meetings and shrinkage awareness training.
- Serve on the store Emergency Response Team and participate in emergency response training including First Aid.
- Prepare prompt and complete reports for high-profile incidents and testify in court when summoned.

- Maintain high level of confidentiality and a calm demeanor when handling aggressive behavior.
- Accountability, initiative, and ownership with flexibility to work varied schedules.
- Meet state and local licensing requirements as applicable.
- Experience in investigative, asset protection, or security procedures preferred.
- Ability to build partnerships with store leaders, neighboring retailers, and local law enforcement.
