Summary
Provide store safety and loss prevention by responding to incidents, investigating theft, and supporting emergency response efforts. Partner with store teams and external partners to protect people, physical spaces, and product accuracy while maintaining confidentiality and good judgment in a fast paced retail environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct apprehensions and resolve theft incidents following policy and AP guidance.
- Monitor video and surveillance systems to identify theft trends and support investigations.
- Investigate internal and external theft by gathering evidence and partnering with AP leadership and investigators.
- Use RFID and reporting tools to analyze merchandise movement and support item level investigations.
- Respond to safety incidents and medical emergencies and participate in Emergency Response Team activities and training.
- Lead security audits and shrinkage reduction efforts and implement merchandise protection standards.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports for high profile incidents, recoveries, investigations, and policy violations.
- Testify in court when required and build partnerships with local law enforcement and neighboring retailers.
Requirements
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and be accountable for decisions in a fast paced environment.
- Clear verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
- Maintain confidentiality and a calm demeanor when handling aggressive behavior.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs and participate in emergency response training.
- Meet state and local licensing requirements as applicable.
- Experience with investigative, asset protection, or security procedures preferred.
