Asset Protection Investigator

Summary

Responsible for monitoring shortage results, conducting investigations and apprehensions for internal and external theft, and implementing store safety and awareness programs under direction of management. Supports inventory integrity through audits and reporting and trains store associates on asset protection policies and procedures. Works in a high volume retail luxury environment and may require jurisdictional certification.

Responsibilities

• Monitor shortage reports and conduct daily and monthly audits to maintain inventory integrity.
• Investigate incidents of internal and external theft and support apprehensions as needed.
• Develop and implement shortage strategies for merchandise groups and paperwork controls.
• Organize and conduct annual store inventory.
• Train store associates on awareness and asset protection policies and procedures.
• Maintain and use store IT applications and systems related to asset protection.
• Support store safety programs and awareness initiatives.
• Perform ad hoc asset protection duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years asset protection experience in a large volume retail environment preferred.
• Certification required where applicable by jurisdiction.
• Ability to quickly learn company standards, procedures, and IT applications.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Wicklander-Zulawski certification a plus.
• Strong investigative and communication skills.
• Ability to train and build rapport with store associates.
