Asset Protection Investigator

Summary

The Asset Protection Investigator monitors shortage results and controls, conducts investigations and apprehensions for internal and external theft, and implements store safety and awareness programs under the direction of management at a single store location. This role supports training of store associates on asset protection policies and maintains inventory integrity through reporting and audits.

Responsibilities

• Monitor shortage reports and daily and monthly audit results
• Conduct investigations into internal and external theft and support apprehensions
• Develop and implement shortage strategies for merchandise groups
• Train store associates on awareness and asset protection policies and procedures
• Organize and conduct annual store inventory
• Maintain paperwork controls and shortage awareness initiatives
• Use store IT applications to document incidents and investigations
• Support store safety and awareness programs

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years asset protection experience in a large volume retail environment preferred
• Certification as required by jurisdiction
• Ability to learn company standards, procedures, and IT applications quickly
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Wicklander-Zulawski certification a plus
• Strong investigative and communication skills
• Ability to train and influence store associates
