Asset Protection Officer

Summary

The Asset Protection Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe store environment and preventing loss by executing asset protection procedures, providing a visible presence for customers and associates, and supporting investigations. This role reports to the Asset Protection Manager and requires adherence to company standards and effective use of store communication systems. The position involves standing for prolonged periods and working flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Execute asset protection procedures to reduce shortage
• Provide a visible and welcoming presence at store entrances to deter theft and assist customers
• Assist Asset Protection Investigators with investigations
• Use store communication systems to coordinate asset protection initiatives
• Maintain a safe business environment for customers and associates
• Identify operational deficiencies related to asset protection and recommend solutions
• Coordinate timely and accurate execution of asset protection initiatives

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency required
• Valid provincial security license where required
• Knowledge of retail procedures and criminal or civil proceedings
• Detail oriented with systems proficiency
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
• Proactive problem solving and professional demeanor
