Asset Protection Visual Security Officer - Shrewsbury

Summary

The Asset Protection Visual Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming store environment through visible presence, loss prevention techniques, and customer service. This part-time role conducts routine patrols, monitors CCTV and sales floor activity, and responds to incidents to deter theft and protect assets. The officer works collaboratively with store management and local authorities as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide a visible security presence on the sales floor and throughout the store to deter theft and misconduct.
• Monitor surveillance systems, conduct frequent patrols, and inspect high-risk areas for suspicious activity.
• Identify, observe, and report incidents; assist in apprehension and documentation of loss incidents following company procedures.
• Work with store teams to address safety hazards, escalate issues to management, and coordinate with law enforcement when necessary.
• Maintain accurate incident reports and inventory of recovered merchandise or evidence.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior retail loss prevention, security, or related experience is a plus.
• Strong observation skills, attention to detail, and ability to remain calm and professional during incidents.
• Ability to stand and patrol for extended periods and lift or move merchandise as needed.
• Availability to work part-time hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; ability to pass background check.
