Summary
The Assistant General Manager will partner with the General Manager to support all functions of an MCM retail location including sales, operations, talent management, clientele development, and merchandising while ensuring a positive customer experience and workplace.
Responsibilities
- Support achievement of sales targets and store profitability
- Investigate customer issues, develop solutions, and coach staff on resolution
- Train staff on standard operating procedures and monitor adherence
- Monitor inventory planning and maintain inventory metrics such as in-stocks and turnover
- Maintain loss prevention procedures and security during receiving
- Review retail profit and loss to identify opportunities to improve profitability
- Analyze sales to identify top and slow sellers and support merchandising strategy
- Perform store opening and closing procedures per company standards
- Communicate company messages to sales associates and act on communications promptly
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of store management experience; fashion or luxury brand experience preferred
- BA or BS degree
- Experience with retail operations including payroll and inventory management
- Experience in opening new stores and rollouts
- Proven leadership in developing and mentoring staff
- Strong retail math skills and ability to use analytics
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deliver presentations
- Ability to stand for long periods and work retail peak and holiday hours
