Summary

The Assistant Sales Department Manager supports the department manager in driving sales, coaching the team, maintaining merchandising standards and delivering exceptional customer experiences in a men's apparel department. This role focuses on recruiting hiring training and developing sales associates while contributing to inventory management and shrinkage goals.

Responsibilities

• Recruit hire and train department sales staff
• Develop and execute department business plans to meet volume and productivity goals
• Coach and lead salespeople to deliver outstanding customer service
• Actively sell on the floor to build customer relationships and loyalty
• Support merchandising and presentation standards
• Assist with inventory management and achieving shrinkage goals
• Collaborate with department store managers and retail merchandisers
• Set and achieve individual and team sales goals
• Provide organizational follow through on department initiatives

Requirements

• Proven track record of sales results and strong productivity
• Competitive drive and ability to succeed in a commission based environment
