Buying Assistant

Summary

The Buying Assistant supports the Merchandising Team with merchandise planning, article and order creation, and the delivery of sales and margin objectives. This role supports the buying strategy and helps communicate across teams, vendors, and showrooms.

Responsibilities

• Enter merchandising data into internal systems.
• Communicate with vendors and showrooms.
• Assist with event coordination and market research.
• Keep management informed of performance and relevant business issues.
• Support the Buyer and Junior Buyer throughout the buying cycle.
• Travel and attend off-site events, including outside regular work hours and on weekends, as needed.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong planning, organizational, interpersonal, critical thinking, and creative writing skills.
• Understanding of the market and competitors, and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Jewelry and merchandising experience preferred; passion for jewelry required.
• High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
