Cashier

Summary

The Cashier provides a welcoming first and last impression for customers by delivering exceptional service and ensuring accurate, secure transactions. This entry-level retail role maintains an organized cash wrap, supports store operations and merchandising, and may be offered full-time or part-time depending on business needs. The position supports broader store goals through cross-selling and assisting with operational tasks.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide helpful, professional service on the sales floor and at the cash wrap.
• Process sales transactions accurately using POS for cash, credit, debit, checks, promotions and coupon redemptions.
• Validate and inspect returns, manage Ship to Home orders, and maintain customer profiles in the POS system.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cash wrap, queue, and surrounding areas; support visual merchandising standards.
• Provide product knowledge, engage in cross-selling and upselling, and escalate issues to management as needed.
• Complete required trainings and support recruiting efforts by networking and sourcing talent.

Requirements

• Retail or similar high-volume specialty environment experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with customers and team members.
• Ability to operate a register and to stand, walk and move around the sales floor and stock areas for extended periods.
• Physical ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs and maneuver around store areas.
• Flexible availability including days, evenings, weekends and occasional travel as required.
