Summary
The Import Export Coordinator ensures compliance with United States import and export laws, preparing and coordinating shipment documentation and working with freight forwarders and internal teams to facilitate timely delivery to the Distribution Center. This on-site role supports multiple divisions and maintains shipment records and tracking to enable efficient operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare required export documentation for outbound After Sales shipments
- Coordinate shipments with freight forwarders and couriers to ensure US Customs compliance
- Process CITES and Fish and Wildlife shipments and provide required documentation
- Provide completed CITES documentation to Transportation Department in France
- Log and maintain records of all import and export shipments for tracking and tracing
- Receive and file entry documentation from Paris brokers per US Customs requirements
- Provide timely shipment status updates and concise tracking reports to management
- Participate in compliance training and cross-train across divisions
- Perform other duties as assigned and work flexible hours including potential overtime and holiday schedules
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in freight forwarding, transport, or logistics
- Knowledge of air and ocean operations and documentation including ISF, TSCA, and Lacey Act
- Proficiency in Excel including VLOOKUPs and PivotTables
- Familiarity with incoterms and ability to calculate dimensional weight
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs following safety procedures
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with clear courteous communication
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office and PowerPoint
- Attention to detail, accountability, and ability to meet deadlines
- Certifications in supply chain or dangerous goods preferred
