Summary
The Demand Forecaster develops gross demand sales plans and manages replenishment assortment productivity to align with customer and product strategies. This role partners with replenishment, buying and planning teams to deliver accurate forecasts, improve inventory efficiency and support in-stock performance in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Create demand forecasts that align with customer demand, merchandise strategy and financial goals.
- Drive pre-season planning with data driven recommendations and scenario planning.
- Identify and communicate risks opportunities and insights on item performance and inventory health.
- Improve forecast accuracy and inventory efficiency through analysis and process improvement.
- Participate in strategy reviews and cross functional meetings to represent forecasting perspective.
- Maintain accurate item attributes and default settings to support forecast integrity.
- Collaborate with replenishment associates and merchant partners to manage high SKU categories.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in retail merchandise planning inventory management or related field.
- Strong analytical and decision making skills with outcomes oriented focus.
- Statistics proficiency preferred and experience with high SKU high revenue or seasonal categories.
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross functional teams using data and insights.
- Customer first mindset and strong understanding of the retail environment.
- Effective communication skills with cross functional and external partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel planning and forecasting tools and adaptability to new tools.
