Design Assistant - Polo Womens Knits

Summary

The Assistant Designer for Women's Polo Knits will support the Women's Polo knits line through research, concept development, CAD and sketch creation, and collaboration with product development to carry designs from concept to production. The role works closely with design leadership, technical design, and merchandising to ensure aesthetics, fit, and cost align with line goals. The position requires physical presence at the documented work location a minimum of four days per week.

Responsibilities

• Conduct market research for product, trims, and techniques
• Create inspiration boards and design presentations for leadership
• Create and update CADs, flat sketches, and detail sketches
• Upload sketches, trim and graphic layouts to PLM
• Partner with Product Development to prepare and proof Tech Packs
• Attend fittings and collaborate with Technical Design to maintain fit and aesthetic
• Work with Merchandising on design, color, and cost decisions
• Support development from initial concept through stock production
• Utilize 3D design tools and explore AI applications for design tasks

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field preferred
• Proficient in hand and digital sketching and illustration
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator Photoshop and InDesign
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook Excel and Word
• Knowledge and experience with PLM systems
• Experience with 3D design tools
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
• Self-motivated team player with clear communication and problem solving skills
