Summary
The Designated Selling Associate is a customer-facing salesperson focused on driving sales for the brand through one-on-one service, product knowledge, and relationship building. The role involves in-store and digital selling, appointment-based interactions, merchandising tasks, and supporting team goals with a flexible schedule.
Responsibilities
- Set and achieve sales goals for in-store and digital channels using selling tools including text and social media
- Build and maintain lasting relationships with customers and grow Nordstrom Rewards accounts
- Provide personalized styling advice and product education to customers
- Conduct DSA-run product knowledge meetings and share product feedback with the district manager
- Drive predictable business through appointment-based selling during events and non-event times
- Perform merchandising tasks including stocking, re-merchandising, displays, price markdowns and transfers
- Support surrounding departments and be flexible to perform duties outside the hired brand when needed
- Attend trainings and meetings to maintain fashion and product knowledge
- Provide confident feedback to customers on fit, style and value
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to cultivate customer relationships
- Ability to excel in a competitive team environment and prioritize multiple tasks
- Flexible availability to work varied schedules based on business needs
- Capability to read sales reporting and use it in relation to goals
- Knowledge of fashion trends and ability to educate customers on brands and styling
- Comfort selling across high and low price points and articulating product value
- Organizational skills to strategically follow up and advise on customer wardrobe needs
- Physical ability for continuous movement, frequent bending and lifting up to 25 pounds
