Summary
This Designer will own seasonal brand design for the tween activewear category, creating products that balance trend, performance, and age-appropriate aesthetics. The role is based in downtown Seattle and follows a hybrid schedule with four days in-office and one remote day per week. The Designer collaborates with cross-functional partners to deliver on quality, cost, fit, and seasonal storytelling.
Responsibilities
- Support design leadership in building seasonal brand design direction for tween activewear.
- Conduct ongoing research into tween behavior, preferences, activities, and market trends.
- Own concept and design for assigned product categories, aligning with brand direction and line plans.
- Research and select performance materials, trims, details, and fabric technologies suitable for tween movement and comfort.
- Partner with print teams to develop age-appropriate graphics and with cross-functional teams including merchandising, tech design, production, and sourcing.
- Develop seasonal color palettes and visual storytelling tools such as mood boards, fabric boards, and digital presentation assets.
- Promote innovation and continuous improvement within the youth activewear category.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Design preferred.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in the design industry, ideally in activewear, kidswear, tween, or youth-focused apparel.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite required; proficiency with MS Office and ability to hand-sketch.
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong time management and multi-tasking abilities and a solid understanding of industry trends.
- Portfolio required (PDF or link) to be considered.
