Senior Designer

Summary

Lead the creative direction for the Zella women’s line by conceptualizing, sketching, and executing seasonal collections that reflect performance, wearability, and current active-lifestyle trends. Collaborate cross-functionally with concept, merchandising, product development, and technical design to realize the product vision while managing team priorities and delivery timelines. Provide leadership and development to the design team through feedback, goal setting, and effective workload management.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, sketch, and execute collection ideas aligned to the target customer and brand ethos.
• Develop thoughtful color applications across new, core, and carryover styles.
• Research and analyze the market and trends with a focus on the active lifestyle and innovation.
• Research and develop raw materials and silhouettes for upcoming seasons.
• Manage design calendars, milestones, and workload to ensure timely delivery.
• Collaborate with leadership and cross-divisional partners to align priorities and direction.
• Manage and develop the design team through performance feedback and development plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Design preferred.
• 7+ years of design industry experience and 2+ years managing a design team preferred.
• Experience in athletic/activewear preferred; strong understanding of active womenswear trends.
• Strong sketching skills and ability to handle a high volume of styles.
• Strategic thinker with ability to deliver appropriate levels of detail for varied audiences.
• Clear written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong time management, multi-tasking skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
