Summary
The Director of Credit leads the strategy for growing and engaging Bloomingdale’s cardholder base. This role owns card acquisition, activation, retention, the cardholder value proposition, and strategic coordination with the issuer and enterprise credit partners. It connects credit performance and economics with loyalty and customer engagement priorities.
Responsibilities
- Own card acquisition strategy, application-to-approval performance, targets, and in-store associate enablement.
- Lead cardholder activation, engagement, retention, and reactivation programs to grow spend and share of wallet.
- Develop the cardholder value proposition and benefits in partnership with Loyalty.
- Represent Bloomingdale’s in issuer and enterprise credit planning, negotiations, and joint marketing.
- Manage the credit marketing calendar, performance reporting, and compliance with issuer, network, and regulatory standards.
- Integrate credit economics into loyalty program economics and partner on segmentation and lifetime value measurement.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in retail credit, co-brand or private-label cards, financial-services marketing, or customer marketing with direct credit ownership.
- Demonstrated success growing card accounts, active rate, cardholder spend, and retention.
- Experience managing issuer or bank relationships and working within a matrixed or enterprise credit structure.
- Working knowledge of credit economics, program profitability, and credit-marketing compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical, cross-functional, and partnership skills, including fluency in customer economics and lifetime value.
